Turn Military Training Into College Credit

Welcome to Universitatis!
Military personnel: welcome to online education!
Educational requirements will continue to rise as military jobs become more technical and complex. High school graduates and applicants with a college background will be sought to fill the ranks of enlisted personnel, while virtually all officers will need at least a bachelor’s degree and, in some cases, an advanced degree as well.

Some colleges offer special tuition rates to those in the U.S. military on active duty, in the reserves, or who start classes within one year of a discharge under honorable conditions. Others accept CLEP, DANTES, and ACE credit toward accredited degree programs. Learn how you can get tuition discounts and credit for your training, whether you’re affiliated with the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. National Guard/Reserves, Department of Defense, or the OCS Foundation.

M.A. in Military History

Norwich University's Master of Arts in Military History is designed to present a broad picture of military history. You will gain more than just a study of American military history. You will leave this program with a sophisticated understanding of the framework through which many aspects of historical events and human behavior can be understood, including economics, politics, social issues, international relations, leadership, and group dynamics. The curriculum includes methodology and historiography, an examination of theoretical concepts and debates over frameworks for analyzing warfare in history, and components dealing with American military history, non-western and non-traditional ways of war, military thought and strategy, and topical areas such as total war and race and gender in military history.

American Council on Education

Educational credit is used by postsecondary institutions to quantify and record a student's successful completion of a unit of study. Postsecondary education consists of courses and programs of instruction for persons who are high school graduates or the equivalent, or who are beyond compulsory school age. Credit recommendations for military occupations are based on the skills, competencies, and knowledge gained, as demonstrated through proficiency in a given occupation category, without reference to how much time elapsed during the learning process.
