• Master of Science in Human Movement

A.T. Still University offers this 14 course, 42 quarter hour Human Movement (M.S.) program which is designed to assist students in the development of comprehensive knowledge of human movement science, functional anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, as well as functional assessment and program design. Graduates of the ATSU Human Movement(M.S.) program will receive the highest quality education in human movement, performance enhancement, and corrective exercise through a flexible distance education format that enables healthcare providers and those practicing human movement, fitness, and wellness to gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide leadership in advanced human movement services. There are 3 concentration tracks to choose from: Sports Conditioning; Geriatric Exercise Science; and Corrective Exercise which is a partnership program between ATSU and the National Academy of Sports Medicine® (NASM®).

University of Southern Mississippi

• Master of Science in Sport Coaching Education

The purpose of the graduate program in Sport Coaching Education is to prepare professionals trained in the most current and up-to-date coaching and technological skills and methods for assessing, evaluating, coaching, and training a diverse range of athletes, which will, in turn, prepare them for advanced career opportunities in coaching fields within the intercollegiate, interscholastic, and youth sport area across Mississippi, the southeast region, and nationwide. The curriculum has been designed and developed to enable students to acquire and demonstrate a set of coaching skills and an understanding of the competitive sport setting at various levels of sport participation through a combination of required core courses, electives, research, and experiential components. Most coaching responsibilities include duties in more than one sport season. In addition, coaches frequently work in strength training and conditioning, facility management, equipment maintenance, fund-raising, and academic counseling.

• Master of Science in Sport Management

The purpose of the graduate program in Sports Management is to prepare professionals for advanced careers in the ever expanding sport industry in Mississippi, the region, and the nation by enhancing their critical thinking skills, exposing them to expert knowledge and research in the field of sport, and developing administrative and management skills. Sport management positions vary among organizations, including: Program Director in Community Sport Programs, Marketing and Promotions Director, Director Academic Services for Student-Athletes, Corporate Sales Director, Director of Ticketing Finance, Sporting Goods Sales Representative, Facilities Coordinator, Athletic Director, Compliance Director, Athletic Business Manager, and Fitness Manager.
