• Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Degree Our PsyD program focuses on developing and applying higher-level clinical skills in assessment, intervention, consultation, supervision, research, evaluation, diversity, and more. The PsyD specialization in counseling psychology prepares learners to pursue diverse career paths within our changing society. Because this specialization is ultimately designed for state licensure eligibility as a counseling psychologist*, it is a very rigorous program that requires course work, residency, and field training experiences. Doctoral graduates typically intend to seek a license to practice professional psychology and must be familiar with the licensure requirements of their state psychology boards. In addition to providing counseling services to individuals and groups, graduates will be prepared to work with nonprofit organizations, to teach at the undergraduate or graduate level, to conduct program evaluations, to offer consulting services, and to provide supervision of other mental health professionals.
• M.S. in Psychology With a master’s degree in psychology, you’ll be prepared to think critically about psychological theory, conduct basic or applied research, and use your knowledge in real-world situations. You’ll also be on the fast-track to completing a Ph.D. in Psychology or succeeding in such rewarding careers as medical educator, family therapist, drug and alcohol counselor or human resources advisor.
